Tansy Herb | Digestive Aid & Natural Insect Repellent
The Remedy:
Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare)—also known as Bitter Buttons, Hierba de San Marcos, and Yellow Tansy—is a traditional European herb used for digestive stimulation, cleansing, joint comfort, and protective folk practices. Rich in volatile oils, bitters, thujone, flavonoids, and aromatic compounds, tansy supports healthy digestion, helps reduce inflammation, and has strong traditional uses for clearing stagnant energy.
Commonly used to ease indigestion, gas, sluggish digestion, bloating, joint discomfort, and cold-related tension, tansy also has a long history as a cleansing and protective herb in spiritual and home rituals. Its bitter, aromatic nature helps stimulate digestive flow and energetic renewal.
Important: Tansy is strong and should be used in small amounts. Not recommended during pregnancy.
Enjoyed as a mild tea, tincture, external wash, incense, or cleansing herb, tansy offers traditional digestive and energetic support.
