Lobelia Herb | Respiratory Relief & Asthma Support
The Remedy:
Lobelia (Lobelia inflata)—also known as Indian Tobacco, Pukeweed, Asthma Weed, and in Spanish Lobelia / Tabaco Indio—is a powerful respiratory herb traditionally used to open the lungs, relax the airways, and ease breathing. Rich in lobeline, alkaloids, volatile oils, and soothing compounds, lobelia helps loosen mucus, calm spasms, and support smooth respiratory flow.
Commonly used to ease asthma symptoms, bronchitis, wheezing, congestion, cough, and tightness in the chest, lobelia also supports smoking cessation and promotes clearer breathing during respiratory distress. Its strong expectorant and bronchodilating properties make it a classic lung-support herb in traditional herbalism.
Enjoyed as a tincture, tea (very mild), smoke blend, or topical chest rub, lobelia delivers potent respiratory support. (Note: Lobelia is strong—use low doses.)
